"The Morsel"
A major work. Paul Gatto's version of the Last Supper was ten years n the making. This ten by five foot oil on canvas was commissioned
by the National Museum of Catholic Art & History in New York City. The composition follows faithfully all that is revealed
in the Four Gospels plus added figures and features that could reasonably have been part of the event.
Many of the working drawings accompany the canvas. The canvas is presently in Washington D.C. in the care of the National Museum
of Catholic Art and Library, formerly, the Museum of Catholic Art and History of New York.
Models for the canvas included family members and benefactors of the museum, most notably, Donald J. Trump posing as St. Thaddeous.
