"A View of the Bethpage State Park"
This watercolor was painted at the onset of the 2002 U.S.Open Championship held at the beautiful Bethpage State Park golf course. The different links have been given color names and the most daunting of all to the golfer is the Black. The Black is to the right in the picture. The piece came to the attention of the then New York State Parks Commissioner, Bernadette Castro. She ordered 600 boxes of stationery with the image of the painting to be used as token prizes for golfers. The original watercolor on D'Arches paper measures 27½ x 17¾ inches and it was painted in 2002 and is in the collection of Mr. & Mrs. R. Gavin.
