"51st & 5th"
This work presents the view of the magnificent St. Patrick's Cathedral on New York's Fifth Avenue at 51st Street. The thoroughfare is where we see the Easter Hat Parade, Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Macy's Day Parade and many others. The artist has chosen the beautiful transparent color that is attained through the use of watercolors to portray one of the city's attractions. Soft sparse brushstrokes clearly identify this landmark. The original of this watercolor was painted in 1995 on D'Arches paper and measures 19 1/2 x 28 inches. It is in the collection of Mr. & Mrs. J. Probeyahn.
