"Manhattan"
Here the artist presents us with a rainy day street scene and a glimpse of the broad thoroughfare that is New York's Fifth Avenue. On this rainy day, the street glistens, reflecting and multiplying images moving and still from sources above - creating
nature's version of the design in the abstract. This street scene is a northbound view of a bustling stretch of the Avenue with toys
at FAO Schwarz, Bonwit Taylor, landmark stores, and coming up, the stately Plaza Hotel and Central Park. Yes,
"The Big Apple" on this rainy day is reflecting pools in the pavement creating even a bigger "Big Apple".
Listen carefully .......................can you hear the sounds of the city?
The original oil on canvas measures 28x36 inches and was painted in 1999. It's in the private collection of
Mrs. P. Warmhold.
